Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University has served music lovers in Queensland and beyond for over half a century. In addition to producing some stellar performers and composers who have graced the stages of Carnegie Hall, Covent Garden, and the Concertgebouw, it has nurtured others who have found their way into recording, teaching, or working with communities.

Composition

As a composer and musician, Joff is best known for his work on the hit children’s show Bluey, but his music compositions can be found in film, television, advertising and theatre in Australia and internationally.

Kate Miller-Heidke

Voice

Award-winning singer-songwriter and ARIA Award nominee Kate Miller-Heidke effortlessly traverses the worlds of contemporary pop, folk, musical theatre and opera. Her albums have achieved multi-platinum status, appearing in the top 10 album and singles charts numerous times.

Composition

Grammy-nominated and Annie-winner Tim Davies orchestrates for features, television, and video games; composing his own scores; and conducting and arranging for orchestras all around the globe including Frozen, The Lego Movie 2, La La Land, Trolls, and many more.

Triple threat producer, vocalist and songwriter Danny Harley’s solo project, The Kite String Tangle,has taken the popular music charts in Australia by storm.

Brett Dean

Strings

Performing as a violist with the Berlin Philharmonic, Brett is now one of the most internationally performed composers of his generation. His opera Hamlet received wide-acclaim at Glyndebourne Festival and will next headline the Adelaide Festival.

Katie Noonan

Singer, songwriter, producer, and pianist. Noonan’s career has seen her win four ARIA Awards, go seven times platinum, release over a dozen studio albums. Katie is currently Artistic Director of Queensland Music Festival

Tenor

Australian-Chinese tenor Kang Wang is currently a member of the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program of the Metropolitan Opera. In 2017, Kang made his house and role debut as Narraboth in Salome and also performed in Beethoven’s Fidelio.

Graduate Karen Jacobsen is an international entertainer, singer, motivational speaker and voice over artist. She is the voice behind Apple’s infamous Siri, and features on over 400 million smartphones and GPS systems worldwide.

Celebrated as the 'angel of André Rieu', the Australian-Dutch soprano Mirusia has performed across the world. Mirusia was the youngest ever winner of the Dame Joan Sutherland Opera Award and has realised six solo albums.
