Research devoted to enhancing knowledge of governance and public policy

The Centre for Governance and Public Policy (CGPP) hosts one of the greatest concentrations of research-orientated scholars in the political science discipline in Australia. It has five key research themes that reflect the wide-ranging, diverse and complex nature of governance and public policy: Social Inclusion and Equity; People, Elections and Parties; Power, Norms, International Institutions and Governance; Integrity, Leadership and Public Trust; Public Policy Design and Delivery.

The Centre is a key part of the political science and public policy community at Griffith University. It has consistently rated well above world standards in the 2012, 2015 and 2018 Excellence in Research Australia (ERA) reviews. Griffith University has been awarded the third highest number of Australian Research Council Discovery political science grants since 2000, and since 2003 is second in the number of A* journal articles, and first in A* International Relations articles.
