The Griffith University EcoCentre is breaking new ground in Australia, hosting an internationally renowned sustainability and leadership program in 2018.

The Executive Education in Sustainability Leadership Program is a selective, small-class program for executives, sustainability professionals and those looking to make an impact.

Participants from all sectors will learn how to effectively integrate sustainability into their organisations from a host of inspiring faculty, led by Leith Sharp, Director and Lead Faculty for Harvard's program in Executive Education for Sustainability Leadership at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health.

The content has been validated through Harvard University's executive education offerings and is widely considered best-in- class for developing high impact sustainability leadership.

The Executive Education in Sustainability Program is for senior leaders, leadership teams and sustainability professionals from all sectors. It will include a soon-to-be-announced faculty of incredible leaders and change-makers from business, higher education, government and the not-for-profit world.

Program

The Executive Education for Sustainability Leadership Program will introduce a powerful new framework for driving sustainability into an organisation's core mission and business. It addresses the work of transforming long-standing organisational identity, culture, structures and processes to unleash new levels of engagement, change, innovation and agility. The content has been validated at executive education programs at Harvard University, the US Green Building Council and several other sustainability associations internationally.

During the week, you'll be taking part in unique, Brisbane-only experiences, focused on connecting you with your peers and faculty. Program Structure

This is an intensive program run from 8am - 9pm (including meals and events) from Tuesday March 6 to Thursday March 8, and 8am - 4:30pm on Friday March 9, 2018.

Learn from the case studies and experiences of our incredible faculty members. Draw from the trials and tribulations of creating a sustainable organisation from the ground up from some of the world’s best.

With the guidance of our faculty, use Leith Sharp’s project mapping techniques to analyse and forward plan your sustainability projects. Re-invigorate your sustainability dreams.

Collaborate with inspiring thought leaders in immersive exercises to make the most of the program’s insights and lessons. Structured opportunities to talk shop with our cross-sectorial attendees, building new opportunities.

Leith Sharp

Director, Executive Education for Sustainability Leadership, Harvard University

Leith Sharp has taught change leadership in sustainability at Harvard University for 15 years, and is the Director of Executive Education for Sustainability with Harvard University’s Center for Health and the Global Environment.

Leith’s spent two decades driving real-world change throughout a range of organisations, and was the founding director of Harvard’s Office for Sustainability.

Our thoughtfully crafted program design and faculty will provide a cohesive, progressive, and powerful encounter with the core concepts and will inspire participants to rise to the critical leadership demands of core business innovation for sustainability.

Throughout this program you will have the opportunity to work individually and directly with Harvard University's Leith Sharp, to find out more about your story and role within your organisation.

Leith will contact you prior to the program's March 2018 session and you will have the opportunity to connect with Leith and your peers in the ongoing Leadership Lab program after the session's completion. This is an incredibly unique opportunity to work with one of Harvard's best.

About our EcoCentre

Griffith University's EcoCentre is a key element of the Sciences Group and promotes an encouraging message that the knowledge, existing framework and resources to develop a truly sustainable world already exists.

The design and operation of the EcoCentre follows strict 'eco' principles, and features solar energy, ambient ventilation and lighting, rammed earth walls for temperature regulation and rainwater collection for 'greywater' use. All features reflect domestic scale environmental technologies that can be used in the family home.

Nestled within Toohey Forest, on our Nathan campus, the centre's bushland setting is ideal for delivering environmental education programs, exhibitions, conferences, meetings and training seminars. Visitors to the EcoCentre enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the forest with access to state of the art teaching and conference facilities.
