Mackay’s Mechanical Engineering Marvel

Griffith University Mechanical Engineering student, Analeigh Angus will embark on stage one of her professional mining career, after securing a coveted role with mining company, Rio Tinto. A highly successful three-month tenure with Rio Tinto to fulfil course requirements of her Industry Affiliates Program was more than enough time for the 21-year-old to mark herself as a genuine asset.

Work Integrated Learning (WIL)

The work-integrated learning program provides direct access to talented students in Science, Environment, Engineering and Technology.

WIL is a work-integrated learning program that integrates undergraduate and postgraduate students into the workplace through completing an industry based project.

Our expertise covers the broad scientific areas of environmental sustainability, water science, drug discovery and infectious diseases, climate change adaptation, artificial intelligence, physical sciences, plus emerging research areas such as micro and nano-technology and advanced manufacturing.

Facilities are equipped with the latest in state-of-the-art technologies to optimise our world-class areas of expertise, which allows applied research to be undertaken that has the potential for commercialisation, while also positively making a difference to our environment, economy and communities.

Research partnership and collaboration

Industry has a pivotal role to play in the development of job-ready graduates and is also an integral part of initiatives undertaken by our diverse entourage of research institutes and centres.

Many of our collaborative partners make valued contributions to program development as members of Griffith University’s Industry Advisory Board, while in-kind and financial support allows Griffith Sciences to take a leadership role for, and on behalf of industry from across the globe.
