Grades

COVID-19 update: Students who fail a course in Study Period 1 and Study Session 1 2020 will not have a fail grade recorded on their academic record or included in calculations of their Grade Point Average (GPA). We have introduced a new grade NOG – No Grade Associated to manage this and the following fail grades will be converted to this new grade: 1, 2, 3, NGF – Non Graded Fail and FNS – Failed no Assessment Submitted. In addition, students who withdraw from their courses after the census date will have the WF – Withdrawal with Failure grade replaced with W – Withdrawal during this time. Please refer to our Grades website for more information.

Grade publication dates are outlined under the Key dates. All students can view their final grades on their unofficial academic transcript.

To view your final grades at myGriffith:

Key OUA dates

Graduation

Upon successful completion of your final units of study, you need to obtain a Record of Results or Statement of Attainment from Open Universities Australia.

We require the Statement of Attainment to be emailed directly to Griffith University from OUA. No fee is required for this process. Email OUA at admin@open.edu.au and request your Statement of Attainment to be sent to oua.programsupport@griffith.edu.au.

(Please note: We cannot accept documents from your personal or Griffith email address or by fax.)

Graduation ceremonies are held twice a year.

If you complete your final units in Study Periods One or Two you can normally expect to graduate in the December ceremony. Applications to graduate must be submitted no later than the end of October.

If you complete your final units in Study Periods Three or Four you can normally expect to graduate in the July/August ceremony. Applications to graduate must be submitted no later then the end of May.

Due to strict end of study period exam timetabling issues, you cannot apply for early grades. Final grades are normally published on the OUA website about eight weeks after the end of each study period.

Even though you may have finished your final units before a particular ceremony date you still may have to wait until the following available ceremony to graduate.
