Investigating flow and transport in the body for medical applications

This project investigates processes involving flow and transport in the body, which have applications in health and medicine. For example, understanding circulation and drug delivery.

RESEARCH AREAS

Our research investigates areas such as:

  • the development of shear stresses due to small-scale features in arteries
  • transport across skin
  • controlled release of drugs using magnetic particles
  • tissue conductivity effects on transport of electric current through the body.

Close collaborations

Princess Alexandra Hospital and the department of medicine at the University of Tasmania have supported theory and modelling by our members.
