The IRU works in collaboration with the Griffith Graduate Research School and GUMURRII to identify research activities and create opportunities for the University’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander HDR cohort.

Research Study Information Session
Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Research Study Information Session
Find out more with our research study information session, hosted live in September 2014 as a partnered event hosted by the Indigenous Research Unit, GUMURRII Student Support Unit, and Griffith Graduate Research School. You'll be presented with an overview of the Griffith PhD journey, clear up some common misconceptions about research study from an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspective, and you'll also pick up tips on finding a suitable research supervisor, cultural safety, who to go to for support, and what to expect in the first year of your research journey. The session concludes with a panel of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers from each Academic Group, who share about their research study experiences.

GUMURRII Student Success Unit
The GUMURRII Student Success Unit has dedicated staff who provide advice and support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander postgraduate students studying, or interested in studying, at Griffith University.
First Peoples Health Unit
The First Peoples Health Unit is focused on supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with an interest in a career in the health or allied health sector.
Griffith Graduate Research School
The Indigenous Research Unit is supported by the Griffith Graduate Research School, who also provide a number of resources to assist HDR students progress through their candidature, including access to research methodologist and research statistician support, and training and development workshops.
