Double degrees

Add a degree, multiply your opportunities

Study accounting and business law at Griffith

Study your way

Get ahead of the game by starting your accounting career sooner. Griffith’s two year program at Logan lets you graduate a year ahead of your peers. You can also fast-track your degree at Gold Coast and Nathan campuses by studying over three trimesters, or study fewer subjects each trimester giving you more time for work and other commitments.

Get work-ready

Gain experience and build on your classroom knowledge through an accounting internship, community internship or global mobility internship. Under the guidance of an industry supervisor, you’ll work on a project for a professional or not-for-profit organisation.

Recognised by industry

Learn from experienced industry professionals and leading researchers who can help you build your skills. Depending on the courses you complete you can graduate with a degree accredited by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and CPA Australia. Add a taxation minor and you’re on your way to becoming a Registered Tax Agent.

Develop a unique skill set

A double major adds breadth to your skill set. You can choose a second major from the Bachelor of Commerce, focusing your skills in this area, or combine your accounting knowledge with a major from the Bachelor of Business. Expand your knowledge further and gain an edge in the employment market with a double degree. You’ll graduate with two degrees-in less time than it would take to complete them separately-and be ready to pursue a career in either specialisation.

Alex Noon

Commerce graduate Alex Noon considered a wide range of possible careers before he realised that the world of accountancy was for him. He enrolled to study accounting and finance at Griffith Business School and has not looked back.

At university he seized the opportunities brought by membership of the Griffith Honours College and when Griffith's work-integrated-learning program led him to city firm McGrathNicol's summer vacation program he got the chance for some hands-on industry experience. This led to a part-time job while he completed his degree, followed by a full-time position on graduation.

'My studies gave me that base understanding of the industry and what was going to be required of me,' Alex says.
