Bring ideas to life

Hosting the world's favourite events has become big business. It looks easy but those big events require big coordination. If you have ambitions to organise a rock concert, community arts festival, business conference or major sporting event, an event management major is for you.

Event managers design, organise and coordinate conventions, conferences, exhibitions, public celebrations, opening ceremonies, tradeshows and festivals. They are responsible for every aspect of events from marketing, catering, signage, displays, translation, audio-visual equipment, security and monitoring the overall budget. A Griffith event management major gives you the essential business skills and specialist knowledge needed to put you at the forefront of this amazing industry.

Elise Giles

Event and human resource management graduate Elise Giles received a Prime Minister's Endeavour Award during her studies. This elite scholarship allowed her to undertake a semester exchange at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, followed by an internship at the international event consultancy company, MCI. The two-month internship program gave Elise an insight into the skills required to coordinate event projects on an international level. 'Being able to study at a Polytechnic University with such an innovative events program was a privilege. The award provided me with many beneficial opportunities in Hong Kong.'
