Help shape the future and improve society
Social science applies the 'science' of research and analysis to the world's complex 'social' problems, such as sustainability, equity, and diversity. In our new Bachelor of Social Science, you'll study some of society's most compelling and intriguing issues, along with the techniques and methodologies to analyse them and devise break-through solutions. You'll develop specialist knowledge in two contemporary fields, with majors available in social justice, global security threats, environmental sustainability, politics in Asia, economics, and media, communication and social change.
You'll be ready to meet the global demand for social scientists who understand and can help solve the biggest problems facing our modern, high-tech societies.

It's where science gets social
If you’re fascinated by human behaviour but don’t want to be a psychologist or social worker, or are intrigued by science and how things work, but aren't interested in lab work, a career in social science could be for you. Social science is the perfect intersection between the scientific and the social and offers a personally fulfilling and financially rewarding career across a wide range of industries
It’s where the data analysts and the communicators meet, the artificial intelligence and human intelligence interact, the hard data gets the human touch. Contemporary social scientists extract meaningful value from data and use it to help formulate practical solutions to some of the world’s biggest problems.
At Griffith, we’ll give you the opportunity to quench your thirst for knowledge and make a difference in the modern world by influencing and leading public policy and helping individuals, communities and society.
