Find your artistic voice in a dynamic creative environment. Visual arts guest lectures and masterclasses with visiting scholars and practising artists will inspire your creativity and increase your network. You’ll have access to an exciting calendar of on-campus exhibitions and artist talks, as well as unique opportunities to exhibit and sell your work through our QCAD Galleries.
Double degree
In the Bachelor of Visual Arts/Bachelor of Business, you’ll develop your passion and skills in visual art while gaining practical business skills. The QCAD attracts students that are dedicated to becoming innovative and creative practitioners. You’ll be able to apply your creativity in a wide range of commercial areas, understand visual arts practice in terms of a contemporary art market, and be prepared to work independently as an artist, in arts and cultural organisations.
QCAD student project - Longreach mural
Longreach Regional Council has joined with Griffith University and the community to create a colourful masterpiece on the Old Thomson River Bridge in Longreach. The design process for the mural consisted of workshops with the community and students from the Queensland College of Art and Design. The final design reflects the history, as well as the future, of the region.

A Bachelor of Visual Arts will equip you for a career in the visual and creative arts, from gallery directors and professional artists to curators, educators, government arts workers and creative consultants. The skills and knowledge you gain will equip you to adapt and succeed in the expanding and changing landscape of the creative arts, and will also serve as the foundation for further studies in education, research or professional practice. You'll be equipped to pursue a multitude of opportunities, including:
