Discover the creative world of interior design

Passionate about interior design and its possibilities? Intrigued by what's on the inside? Interior design is the study of interior spaces in private and public places. Interior designers are the professionals who create the environments where we live, work, learn and relax. In a multifaceted profession drawing on creative inspiration and technical proficiency, interior designers meet the challenges of functionality, accessibility, safety and quality in residential, retail, commercial, hospitality and healthcare projects. Studying interior design and environments at Griffith, you'll gain the skills to tackle real interior design challenges and devise innovative strategies and solutions, advancing your critical and strategic thinking at the same time.

Cathrine Nordhus

Queensland College of Art graduate

Originally a Norwegian exchange student, Cathrine Nordhus graduated from QCA and is currently working at Sias Contract Interiors in Oslo Norway. `I've been working with hotel interior design since graduating from QCA. This involves artistically decorating and furnishing the space inside a hotel (such as bars, restaurants, lobbies, business centres and guest rooms). We work with hotels and resorts all over Europe, improving or renewing visual aspects and creating the best interior design for that particular space. I don't know of any other creative profession where you can work on so many different elements of design at the same time. In order to be the very best I can be as a designer, I have to learn from the best. At Griffith we were given the freedom to decide how to solve challenges based on the creative ideas we developed. This freedom of exploration, combined with supportive and inspiring lecturers, helped me get the job I have today.
